[[Back from Tioman]]

I am now a qualified basic open water scuba diver!

Anyway, scuba diving is pretty fun. And Tioman is a pretty nice island.

I have to say I had some apprehensions before the trip. Could still remember struggling a little during the practical lessons at the swimming pool the week before.

But once in the open waters, everything just seemed to flow. It wasn't as difficult I thought it would be. And really, the world beneath these waters can be pretty amazing.

Marine life is simply fascinating! It's like watching Nat Geo right in front of your eyes, and you can almost touch everything!

It's a little pity that quite a few corals were already dead. Doesn't help when too many people dive at the same place. Hopefully, the waters will not be damaged further.

I especially like the sea anemone and the clown fish! Damn cute, can? You can place your palm about 10 centimetres away from the sea anemone (can't touch because it's poisonous) and sway left and right and watch the sea anemone move and the clown fish inside of it. Wah...really adorable! No wonder they chose Nemo to be a clown fish.

The sucker fish was also very cute! It looks like a mini-me shark, and sticks on to the oxygen tanks to feed off the dirt (or whatever) that's on the tanks. Kinda looks like it's hitching a ride, but actually it is not. There was one that swam past me and brushed against my cheek. Haha...took me by a little surprise.

There are a whole lot of other nice fishies swimming around. They seem quite nonchalant about the presence of humans in the water. I guess they have seem humans so often that they think nothing of us.

The biggest regret was not being able to find a sea turtle. Really wished I could see a Squirt-lookalike. But at least I managed to catch sight of a small stingray, which not many did. The way it swims around is damn cute too!

I thought I got much more than I expected out of this trip. The things that I saw, the experiences that I went through. Even the sights of the natives on the island and the villages and towns that our bus went past. Everything sets me thinking a lot.

Once in a while, it is really great to take a break, go far away from this hectic city life, and look at how people live their lives in other parts of the world. The smiles painted on their faces whenever they greet you, it can be so endearing.

And yeah, there are moments in this life when sometimes...just sometimes, you wish that the moment will last you very,very long...
