Book out~!!

Man...that's the thing every guy who enlisted early this month looked forward to the moment they stepped into Pulau Tekong.

So glad to be back home. Home never felt so comfortable before. Almost everything about that island, well, sucks big time. Hehz...

First of all, congrats to all my friends who had POP-ed. Heard that some of them had got into OCS, which is a really good thing (financially). Can't help but feel really glad for them. Hope that when I get my posting 3 months later, I'll be sent there too.

Wanna know more about life in Pulau Tekong?

Like I said, it kinda sucks. I don't know how, but everyday the bed and pillow seemed to collect dust so quickly. Can't understand how that is possible. Maybe it's the white bedsheet that made the dust so bloody obvious.

My company. Taurus Coy. Ahh...it's not such a bad company. Near the cookhouse, near the ferry terminal, not so far off from the Medical Centre...the location is pretty good. But my platoon sucks~!! Or rather, the platoon sergeant. What a bastard he really can be. At least that's what I think of him now. My opinion of him might change as time goes by, but right now, he is really an arsehole. =P

My platoon and section mates are pretty ok. But there are a few super freaking blur cocks. Somehow you will feel like smashing their stupid heads against the wall. And it's only 14 days! How to tahan for another 11 weeks? Damn...

And the food~!! How can we forget that? It does not taste as bad as some people had made it out to be, but it certainly isn't that good either! A lot of the food are what we call "instant food". Things like canned sardines, hotdogs, fish cakes, oily food...and the list just goes on. So much for a healthy lifestyle.

But it's hard to blame the uncles and aunties working at the cookhouse. Trust me, it ain't easy cooking 4 meals for 1,000 people everyday. Imagine the amount of work put in. That's why I always made it a point to thank the uncles and aunties everytime they put food onto my plate.

The night sky at Pulau Tekong is really fantastic!! I managed to spend some time near the coastal area during 1 night and the feel beats even the feel at East Coast! The breeze coming from the sea was great, and stars littered across the night sky. So beautiful!! The biggest pity, though, was that the people around you at that wonderful moment are all guys with shaven heads.

What else can I talk about? Hmm...nothing much for now. Army can get really contradicting sometimes. They always like to tell you they give you enough time to do this and that when in fact, they themselves know it can be done. I hate it especially when they ask before every major exercise regime or march sessions if you had 7 hours of uninterrupted rest. It is correct that from the lights out moment, which is 2230 hrs till the time you wake up, which is 0530 hrs, it is 7 hours. But come on, how can it be possible for everyone to wake up at 0530 hrs and fall in by 0545 hrs?

In case you wonder why it can't be done, try asking youself if it's possible for 50 people to finish brushing their teeth and washing their faces in 15 minutes when you only got 7 sinks. Even the officers know it's all bullshit when they ask that question and when we answer "yes". Still, it is their job to ask and our duty to give them the correct answer.

Like what many people know, the Army is very much for show only.

Well...what to do? Juz serve the 2 years and piss off. If the financial opportunity arrives, then sign on. That's 1 thing that the Army can offer, another job opening.
