[[The Last Chapter XX]]

The second last semester of school was a fast one. With loads of projects and work on hand, there was brealy time to take a breather. It was a good thing for Jaime to be busy. When at work, there wasn't much time or space for him to think of anything else.

All these months, Jaime began to find projects fulfilling and enjoyable. Thus, when the holidays came, he began to feel some emptiness again. There wasn't much to look forward to, except a chalet his classmate Gwen had organised for her birthday during late October.

Just a few weeks before the chalet, Jaime and Celine had a long talk with each other. Not only had the last two-and-a-half years been tough for Jaime, it was tough for Celine too. It was so hard to understand Jaime. At times, he was, to her, the most wonderful guy. But there were times she never could find a proper reason why he was so cold towards her.

Though she began to realise how true Jaime felt about her, Celine still wasn't sure about herself. Shee, too, was growing tired of guessing what Jaime was thinking. She wished so much for him to be more open and straightforward. But at the same time, she felt really bad too. For she was making him wait for something she couldn't guarantee.

One night, she decided to message Jaime.

"You know, I guess we should give ourselves some time to cool off and think over..."

The next few days were absolutely terrible for the both of them. They avoided direct contact with each other in school and did not message each other. It took them so much effort to look like nothing was wrong. A few days later, Jaime thought enough was enough.

"I don't know about you, but the last few days were absolute hell. I still miss you a lot..."

Despite the cheerful persona Celine had always shown on the outside, there were matters in her mind that affected her natural happy self. She too, had been feeling so mixed up.

"It's weird and this sounds like an irony, but it feels so much like a break up..."

Finally, both relented. The last few days had proven too much to take and they began talking again a week before the chalet.
