Whew~...finally got home from the UCC after the cultural potpurri. Actually went to have supper wif Junwei and Jiahui first, that's why came back later. Hmm it was quite a good performance overall. Most of the items were pretty entertaining, save for the harp performance which almost put me to sleep. I'm quite sure many share my sentiments and I can find people to vouch for me =P. Compared to the only previous culutral potpurri that I watched back in my secondary school days, this was much more entertaining. The last time I watched it was only one single stage play item themed "Aladdin". Today there were different types of performances, like guzheng, Chinese Orchestra, dance etc. Met up with quite a few people at the UCC too. Saw Eleanor and she was surprised to see me there cos she wondered how I got tickets. Haha with my good friend sj and my mei ps around of cos got tickets lah. Hehe thanks wor~...saw Mrs Chan and Mrs Sim too and had a little chat with both of them. It's always nice to catch up with the teachers.
But still I have quite a few complaints about the event. While the performers put up a really good show, the organising committee really kinda sucked. We weren't allowed to sit down until after the first performance had started for about 15 minutes. Apparently it's not because they don't have enough seats. I mean, no one would print more tickets than the venue could hold right? But they chose to make us go up and down and up and down again and refusing to grant us seats which they claimed are designated for parents. I wouldn't have any qualms about that if there were still parents unseated but there were none. Besides, it's not as if we don't have tickets to go in. No matter what we are still ex-students. In the end they still gave us the seats. Really makes one wonder why they can't do it earlier.
Then it's the behaviour of those students who sat behind us. Throughout the performance they were chit-chatting away and I believe everybody within a 10m radius can hear them. And this carried on even though repeated attempts by teachers to get them to shut up. Then there's this particular irritating girl who kept kicking our chairs. Duhz~...really felt like turning around and giving them a lecture. Well I suppose those are sec 1 or 2 students lah. Hopefully they'll grow up quickly and stop being such a nuisance.
Wonder if next year will get to watch again. If there's a chance I would take it. Haha always nice to be able to catch up with teachers and the school. Cyaz~ =)
